I second whoever voted for EG Daily's first two albums, especially the terrific Lace Around The Wound. However if you're a fan of that sound, I would recommend her rather uneven latest album, Never Say Never, if only for the great tracks I Fly and Game Over, the latter being a terrific throwback to her Chequered Love/Words Fell Down phase. She changed styles so much that it hardly has anything to do with the new wave / pop sound of her debut. I would hardly run away screaming from Kim Wilde's 5th and 6th albums (Another Step and Close, respectively) though I understand where r66 is coming from. Wall of Voodoo.every one of their earlier songs is better than "Mexican Radio". They were more creative and punk driven before they went mainstream. Nobody seems to ever know about their first two LPs. INXS - all albums before and including "Shabooh Shoobah". #Download raybeats guitar beat rar plusHaircut 100 - their album has that one big hit "Love Plus One", but the whole album is fun, silly, and oh so British sounding.lovely for a summer car trip. #Download raybeats guitar beat rar movieWe hear a few of their tracks on some 80s movie soundtracks, and they kind of float on by.but give this entire album a listen. The title track I would listen to on Repeat. Lead singer of Tangerine Dream goes solo.and I dare say he's on par with Gary Numan.but only on this album. I downloaded the mp3s a few months ago, and re-discovered how great every single track is (well, there's one song that's stupid - "26580"). Kim Wilde's first album - I wore that piece of vinyl out back in 1982. The singer's voice is so haunting and beautiful. Real Life had their hit "Send Me an Angel", but the rest of that album ("Heartland") is just as good as that song. I was less into synth-pop than most I guess, and the bands I liked were: Suburban Lawns, Bush Tetras, Dream Syndicate, Rank & File, Polyrock (produced by Philip Glass), Raybeats, Fleshtones, The Feelies (the prom band in "Something Wild").īelow is the link for a blog, Lost Bands of the New Wave Era. The dB's put out several LPs, but they were never on a major label. The Bongos made MTV with "Telephoto Lens", but their LP was really good, and one of my favorites.Įverybody remembers The Vapors for "Turning Japanese", but the whole album was good, especially "Letter From Hiro." I have a couple of them, but the only ones I really remember are Nina Hagen and OMD. The Photos LP was very catchy, and "She's So Attractive" and "Do You Have Fun?" might have have made it to the radio.Īnother Record company tried 10" EP's for a while to try to get new bands to catch on. The Photos was one of the bands and it was good. "The Photos" There for a while, one of the record companies was putting out cheap records by new bands for $3.99. Remember "Trouser Press" magazine? They had great recommendations. I want to know if I am the ONLY person who heard/has the album "The Coconuts" did away from Kid Creole.
